Guest Mode and Cloud Mode
Milesight ToolBox App automatically distinguishes between the guest mode and cloud mode according to your sign-in status. This topic introduces the two modes and how to switch between them.
Guest Mode and Cloud Mode
ToolBox App determines the working mode based on whether you have signed in to the Milesight Development Platform:
- Guest mode: You have not signed in. Only the local version features are available, such as NFC/Bluetooth device reading and configuration, firmware upgrade, template management and batch join.
- Cloud mode: You have signed in and the mobile phone network connection is
normal. All app features are available, including cloud device management,
template synchronization and the personal center. In cloud mode, the app
supports the following features:
- Devices added to the platform form the enterprise device ledger, with status visualized at a glance and project assets traceable by enterprise and group;
- Templates are synchronized in both directions between the app and the cloud, allowing configuration files to be managed remotely and shared within the enterprise;
- Users are organized into enterprises and data centers; features are controlled by roles and permissions, and devices and templates accumulate as enterprise assets.

Switch from Guest Mode to Cloud Mode
- Tap Sign In on the sign-in page, or navigate to the Center page and tap Sign In. For details on signing in, refer to Cloud Account Login and Management.
- After signing in successfully, the app switches to cloud mode automatically. The bottom tab bar displays Device, Management, Configuration and My.
Switch from Cloud Mode to Guest Mode
- Navigate to the My page, tap the account setting icon, and tap Log out.
- Tap Log out to confirm. The app returns to the sign-in page.
- Tap Guest Mode at the upper right corner of the sign-in page to continue using the app in guest mode.
