Hardware Introduction
This chapter describes the hardware design of the device.
Hardware Overview

| Part | Description |

| LoRaWAN® Antenna Connector | Allows connection of external antennas to enhance wireless communication range and reliability. ANT1 is used for TX and ANT2 is used for RX. |
| Vent Plug | Equalizes the internal pressure and prevents moisture build-up. |
| SIM Slot | Allows to insert a SIM card to connect to the cellular network. |
| LED Area & Type-C Port & Reset Button | There are three interfaces:
LED Area: See LED Patterns. |
| DC Power Connector | Connect DC power source or solar panel to supply power to the device. |
| Ethernet Port (PoE) | Allows connection to an ISP for network access, and supports the PoE PD feature, enabling it to receive power over Ethernet. |
| Grounding Stud | Used to connect to an earth ground to protect the device from power surges. |

Powering Options
This chapter describes the powering supply option supported by UG67 gateways. Please select one of the following options to power the gateway.
- Powered by Active PoE
- The Ethernet port can receive power by connecting to an 802.3af standard
PoE switch or PoE injector.Tip: It is recommended to install the PoE surge protector or lightning arresters when using outdoors.

- Powered by DC Power Connector
- The gateway can be powered by a DC power connector (6-12V DC).

Installation Instructions
This chapter provide instructions on how to install the accessories and the device.
SIM Card Installation (Cellular Version Only)
This section describes how to install a SIM card into the gateway. If not needed, please skip this section.
- The gateway supports cellular feature (model name includes
-Lxxx). - Extra tools: Wrench, a SIM card (Mini-2FF).
- Loosen the SIM dust cover from the gateway with the wrench.
- Insert the SIM card into the SIM slot in the correct orientation.

To remove the SIM card, press it and it will pop up automatically.
- Secure the SIM dust cover to the gateway and tighten it with a wrench
(tightening torque: 0.7 N.m).

Ethernet Cable and Cable Gland Installation
This section describes how to install the cable gland to prevent from water.
Install when Ethernet Port is Used
Prerequisites: Wrench, Ethernet Cable Gland, Round Ethernet Cable ( Recommended length: no more than 100 meters)
- Remove the cable gland plug from the cable gland assembly, and separate the cable gland.
- Pass the Ethernet cable through the cable gland assembly.

- Connect the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port of the gateway.
- Secure the cable gland to the gateway and tighten it with a wrench
(tightening torque: 1.1 N.m).

Install when Ethernet Port is not used
Prerequisites: Wrench, Ethernet Cable Gland (With Plug Installed)
- Tighten the screw nut of the cable gland.
- Secure the cable gland to the gateway and tighten it with a wrench (tightening torque: 1.1 N.m).
Power Cable Installation
This section describes how to install the power cable to the gateway. If not needed, please skip this section.
Prerequisites: M12 DC Power Cable
- Remove the protective cap of power connector.
- Rotate the power cable into the power connector and tighten it by
hand.

- Connect the other side of power cable to the DC power source or solar panel as required.
Gateway Installation
- Installation Location
-
- The antennas must extend beyond the wall or pillar surface and not be close to the poles or walls. If there are still walls nearby, please keep the antennas at least 35cm away from them.
- Ensure there are no obstacles or metal objects around.
- For better coverage, it is recommended to position the gateway at a higher location, but not the highest position.
- Wall Mounting

Requirements:
- The wall structure shall be sufficiently solid and stable to ensure firm screw fixation and overall mounting stability.
- Screw mounting positions must avoid internal wall electrical wiring, water pipes and other concealed utilities to prevent structural damage and potential safety hazards.
Prerequisites: Screwdriver, Mounting Bracket, all Mount Kit, Pencil, Electrical Drill
Steps:
- Align the mounting bracket horizontally to the target surface,
use a pencil to mark four mounting holes.Note: The connecting lines of adjacent points are at right angles.
- Drill four holes in the wall according to the mounting holes.
- Insert the wall plugs into the holes.
- Secure the mounting bracket to the wall plugs using the wall
mounting screws.

- Hang the gateway to the mounting bracket and secure it to the
bracket by tightening the bottom fixing screw by hand.

- Pole Mounting

Prerequisites: Screwdriver, Mounting Bracket, Short Mounting Backboard Kit
Steps:
- Secure the mounting bracket to short mounting backboard with
four screws.

- Install one antenna on the short mounting backboard as
follows.

- Attach the U-strap clamp with one antenna to the short mounting backboard.
- Insert the two screws through the other side of the backboard to secure the U-strap clamp with the antenna to the backboard.
- Screw flat washers, spring washers, and nuts onto the U-strap clamp.
- Straighten out the hose clamps and slid them through the
rectangular rings in the mounting bracket and short mounting
backboard, then wrap them around the pole.

- Hang the gateway to the mounting bracket and secure it to the
bracket by tightening the bottom fixing screw by hand.

- Secure one antenna to ANT2 connector of the gateway directly,
then connect the remaining antenna on the short mounting
backboard to the gateway with the coaxial cable.

- Secure the mounting bracket to short mounting backboard with
four screws.
Antenna Installation
This section describes how to install the antennas to the device.
Install Antenna to Short Mounting Backboard
When the gateway is installed to a pole using short mounting backboard, refer to Pole Mounting steps.
Install Antenna using U-Bolt Clamp
Prerequisites: LoRaWAN ® Antennas, U-Bolt Clamp Kit, Antenna Coaxial Cable
- Secure one antenna to ANT2 connector of the gateway directly.
- Secure the other antenna to a pole using the U-Bolt Clamp Kit.Note: Make sure the two antennas are at least 35 cm apart to avoid interference.

- Pass the antenna through the antenna clamp and secure it with four screws.
- Wrap the U-bolt around a pole and secure the clamp with nuts and other accessories.
- Connect the antenna on the pole to the gateway with the coaxial cable.

Weather Protection
To protect the gateway from outdoor bad weather, it is necessary to cover all cable connectors and antenna connectors with tapes.
Prerequisites: Electrical Insulation Tapes, 3M Waterproof Tapes
- Ensure the antennas and cables are installed tightly, then clean the
surfaces of connectors.Note: Install the antenna lightning arresters to the connectors before wrapping tapes if required.
- Wrap a layer of electrical insulation tape tightly around the connectors and overlap the previous wrap by 50%.
- Wrap a layer of 3M waterproof tape tightly around the connectors and overlap the previous wrap by 50%. Note that the tapes should be stretched to double their length when using.
- Wrap a layer of electrical insulation tape with natural uncoiling force
around the connectors and overlap the previous wrap by 50%, ensure them to
cover the head and tail of the connectors.Antenna Connector:

Lightning Protection
- Connect the gateway to the earth ground.
- Add lightning arresters on the antenna connectors.
- Add PoE surge protectors between gateway and the PoE injector/switch as required.
- Ensure the gateway with antennas is positioned lower than the highest point of the building and within the protection range of the lighting rod.
- If there is not lightning rod around, ensure the location of the gateway is not in the influence area of the lightning, or fix a lightning rod above the antennas.
- The cross-setcional area of the earthing wire should be more than 10 AWG.

Access the Gateway
- Enable the Wireless Network Connection on your computer, search for the
corresponding for Wi-Fi SSID, and connect to it. Default Wi-Fi
credentials:
SSID: Gateway_XXXXXX (last 6 digits of the Wi-Fi MAC address)
Password: iotpassword - Open a web browser (Chrome is recommended) and type in https://192.168.1.1 to access the web GUI.
- Log in to the web GUI using the default
credentials:
Username: admin
Password: password - After logging the web GUI for the first time, it is
necessary to change the default password.

- Enter a New Password. The password must contain at least one letter and one number, and be 5 to 31 characters long.
- Enter Confirm New Password.
- Click Save.
- Log in to the web GUI using the new credentials.

FCC Radiation Exposure Statement:
This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be installed and operated with minimum distance 20cm between the radiator& your body. This transmitter must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
