Add Devices from Order

Milesight Development Platform provides the service to bind your order for easy device addition. This topic describes how to add devices to Milesight Development Platform from order.

Prerequisites

  • The account role is Enterprise Holder.
  • Provide the enterprise code that needs to be linked to the order to Milesight. The enterprise code can be found here.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Milesight Development Platform.
  2. On the top bar, select the Device tab.

  3. In the lower-left corner, select Unmanaged Devices.

  4. Select the desired devices, click Add with One Click.

  5. In the Device List section, select the group to which the device belongs, and edit the device name, tags and description as needed. Admin account and password are supported for IP cameras only.

  6. If there are devices that support RPS, you can configure RPS for them.

    1. Enable RPS.
    2. Select the configuration type and configure the related parameters. If you require device to receive configurations from configuration URL, see Add RPS Records in Bulk.
      • Configuration Template: In the Configuration File drop-down list, select the desired configuration file to apply settings to the device. You can click Custom to edit the selected file as needed.
        Note:
      • Configuration File:Upload the .dat format configuration file from the device by clicking upload button or dragging it to the file box. This file can be exported from the device.
        Note: Ensure that the hardware and firmware versions of the device from which the configuration file is exported match those of the target device.
  7. Click Save.

Result

  1. The devices are added to both Device page and Application page of Milesight Development Platform, the Status column displays the connectivity status and the RPS Status column displays the RPS activate status.

    The devices initial connectivity status is displayed as Disconnected, which will be automatically transitioned to Online upon the transmission of the device's heartbeat or data through the platform.

    The RPS records will be generated when RPS statuses are Enabled.

    Note: If you only require RPS for this device and set it NOT to connect to Milesight Development Platform, please go to RPS tab to add the device RPS record.
  2. The added devices are removed from Unmanaged Devices list. And the added status are changed to Added in the order detail page.
